MMRC Logo Discussions

Postby wolfpac on Sun Apr 27, 2008 12:02 am

Hi all,

Just wanted to start a thread so that we had somewhere dedicated to the discussions on the MMRC Logo.

Please let me know all the feedback for the logo/s, and will certainly try and get the suggestions into the logo and get it uploaded! :D

Discuss amongst yourselves... :)

In that case I'll see what I can do. I'll get creative and take a few different photos from different angles so that I have plenty of images to work with! :D

I like the idea of just a station, or athe station with a train in the distance.

Cheers

The station idea sounds pretty good, but I think that we still do need some sort of "train/loco" in it, just to signify that we are a model train club, and that's what we're all about.

Perhaps something like this... (Click to see full size!)

And yes, I know it's another R, but it is an example. :P

A foto of the melton station is good. I prefer the shot of the "R" rather than the sprinters or velocity's. Wot shit names for trains!!!!!!!

First up, welcome! :D

It probably makes the most sense, but I think the R might be a sticking point, some like the "modern era" some like steamers...

Thanx 4 welcome. Wot about a shot of a train going over melton viaduct? A station is a station, a viaduct is more of a landmark. Just a suggestion....

Well we did actually float that idea at the meeting, but we thought it might not convey what the club is all about?

As in a HO scale on the actual platform, in the foreground, a train leaving/arriving off in the distance?

Just trying to visualise it so I can take a photo of it! :D

That'd make a brilliant logo, a C+X on a jet, a HO C and Melton station! :D

Hmm, that could possibly work out simpler? Purely from an embroidery point of view, it could work out easier, with fewer details...

Another thought could be a simplified version of either 6 (D3,R) or 8 (J,K,N,C etc) coupled steam loco drivers?

I've got to get going and sort out all of these ideas into logos and something to actually show! I'll see what I can do on the weekend, and hopefully there's some better weather this weekend for when I trek down to the station!
