new layout

Cool, sounds good. Certainly have to get the wiring right from the get-go.

Ah, still haven't picked a spot? :) Where/what are you thinking as the basis for the station layout?

I was thinking of upper ferntree gully but the station and goods yard is over 5 meters long if made to scale, if the sidings on the northern side we done as well it would be 7 meters long and the space i have is 4 meters long, so maybe i would have to shrink it a bit hm...

Nice, looks like there's plenty of shunting potential there. Although, I suppose is a bit of selective compression, to make it fit a little better, wouldn't hurt?

That's probably a good idea, no doubt it'll allow you bigger, wider sweeping curves?

While I think of it too, looking at the photo, how high up are the tops of your layout? I'm just curious to see what the "norm" is...

the track is a bit over 900mm from the floor. I make it that way so its not to hight so the kids can see the trains too and i can when sitting in a char lol

No worries, that's about the same as mine in progress. I just went of measurements from a workbench that was made on a show on Foxtel last year.

Once I get some adjustable feet they'll all be level, at least... :) I've got a mainly brick floor in my shed, and to say it's uneven would be a big understatement!

Haha, cool, at least you were able to work the uneven floor into the layout! :) So you're well aware of having a really uneven floor, then...

:) Good point! And with my wonky baseboards and dodgy framework/legs, it might have to be split level anyway! :P

Changes to the layout… Planed station extension has been cancelled as room in the workshop is needed for a new project that will take a number of years to complete…
:D :D A new goods yard arrangement is to take place on the site of the precent good yard I will pop up some pic’s when the new yard is up and running … :D :D

 Good on ya!

It's bad, but hopefully there won't be any spontaneous earthquakes!

Let's not talk about my dodgy, barely started layout, however! I'm more interested in other people's layouts for now...
