Update on the layout on Monday night and tonight the layout had it’s first train last night it was a NR and a container wagon it went around for a hour or so it didn’t go that good as the power controller is a bit piss week it’s a 1.5A DC one. Once the bus line is in hop that loco will go better. Tonight it was a T and 4 pass cars that got a run the T went a lot better than the NR did hm …

An extension is planed I will put a new yard and station in the middle so trains can run from point to point pass trains going from station to station and good running from yard to yard. As the main line is single it should make for some fun runs. If I want to just run trains I use the loop in the goods yard then I get a continuous run that’s the testing part...

For signalling it will have bi directional colour light signalling with 3 signal boxes the main line will have auto signals and be Bi directional...

The stations are long enough to have a 6 car comeng or Hitachi stopping at them the sidings at both stations will hold 2 suburban trains. Goods trains will be short and have to run in between suburban trains which should be fun.. also there is a fair bit of shunting in the goods part and making up of mix trains another thing I like doing ..

The only parts I will be having buildings and detail will be the 2 stations and the good yards and the section in front of the roller door, the rest will just have overhead wiring and the signals as when the layout moves to its permeant home only the detail sections will make it into the new layout…

Sounds good to me.
The NR's are prone to dirty wheels, mine seem to need more cleaning then most of the other locos. SOme of the early ones also have some pickup problems due to paint or similar on the metal pieces that the bronze axle bearings sit in. I ran a fine file over mine and running was improved over the long term.

Cheers.......Eugene
